1. Scavenger Hunt

A scavenger hunt is a great way to get personal with your proposal. It’s a sweet idea to lead your significant other around the areas that are meaningful to your relationship: your first date spot, where you shared your first kiss, where you made things official, and so on. Or, you can include places that are special to them: their favorite bookstore, their favorite park, their best friend’s house. Make it intimate between the two of you, or invite people in their life to be a part of the scavenger hunt along the way. At the end, surprise them with a proposal!

2. Valentine Box

Remember when you were a kid and you got to decorate a box for all of your valentines at school? Put your crafting hat on and make a special box for your sweetheart! Cover it with sentimental photos of the two of you and fill it with valentines. On each card, write down something you love about them. At the bottom of the pile, slip a ring into an envelope. When they open it, get down on one knee and propose!

3. Candlelit Dinner

A candlelit dinner is a classic proposal choice with a no-fail track record. Is your significant other one who enjoys lots of one-on-one time? Do they love a home-cooked meal? If so, we recommend lighting up some candles at home, cracking open a bottle of wine, and serving up a delicious dinner. If your person enjoys going out on the town and fine dining, you can take them out for a candlelit evening instead. Either way, you can’t go wrong with amazing food and a romantic atmosphere. When the time feels right, pop the question with a classic engagement ring and celebrate their “Yes!” with dessert.

4. Surprise Getaway

If you have the funds and know that your significant other can get away for a few days, surprise them with a Valentine’s Day trip! We recommend going over a weekend or other time when you know they aren’t working or busy to make the trip stress-free. It doesn’t have to be a huge gesture like a flight to a tropical island, but you can drive to a nearby cozy cabin or the coast. While on your sweet escape, ask them to marry you while watching the sunrise or in another picturesque spot. You can even coordinate with a local photographer to capture the moment! The surprise of a hidden halo engagement ring goes perfectly with a surprise getaway proposal.

5. Breakfast in Bed

Want to do something low-key that speaks to their love language? Breakfast in bed is the way to go! Load up a tray with their favorites, whether it’s pancakes and waffles or a bacon-and-egg sandwich. Make sure to include mimosas or coffee and a vase of pretty flowers. Get creative with the ring placement, whether you want to include the box on the tray or hide it under their pillow. This is a sweet, intimate way to spend the day together and celebrate your love. Shop simple solitaire engagement rings to complete this low-key proposal.

6. Outdoor Activities

If you know your future spouse loves getting outside, it’s a good idea to incorporate their favorite activities into your proposal. A hike is one way to propose in the great outdoors. Wait until you get to the top of the mountain, or the most scenic view, and get down on one knee to pop the question. Or, depending on where you live, take them to a ski lodge and propose in front of a gorgeous snow-capped landscape. The options are endless, and if you choose to take photos, they will turn out great at golden hour! We also have nature inspired engagement rings to make this the perfect proposal.

No matter which way you choose to propose this Valentine’s Day, Shane Co. is here to help. We have a wide selection of engagement rings to choose from, with options to choose your setting and stones. You can also chat with an expert jewelry consultant online or visit a store near you.
