Are you looking for the perfect piece of jewelry for any occasion? Whether you’re in search of a gift or something to add sparkle to your own wardrobe, we’ve got you covered. With our wide selection of jewelry, you will be sure to find something that will make you feel beautiful and confident. We have something for everyone!

The best part about jewelry is that it goes with everything, and we don’t think you can go wrong with fine jewelry at any occasion. There are a few favorite styles, though, when it comes to jewelry that we at Shane Co. wanted to share to get you started if you’re trying to figure out what piece to wear and when.

Weddings

When it comes to clothing for weddings, the only true “rule” is that you shouldn’t wear white (unless the bride specifically requests guests to wear white). Other than that, the invitation may state whether it’s a formal or casual affair. As far as jewelry, we recommend wearing colorful gemstones. It’s especially thoughtful to try and match the wedding colors. Brides tend to wear diamonds and pearls, so it’s appropriate for a guest to wear colorful jewelry.

Black-Tie Galas

Black-tie events tend to call for floor-length gowns and black tuxedos. With these classic clothing pieces, you really can’t go wrong with any fine jewelry. However, we like a platinum look to fit the occasion. Try any style of jewelry in this gorgeous metal and you’re sure to stun.

Business Dinners

Professional clothing or cocktail attire is typically the style seen at a corporate dinner or other work event. All jewelry is a safe bet. For men, we recommend trying cufflinks with your sports coat for an added touch of sophistication. For women, we recommend something tasteful like a solitaire necklace.

Charity Balls

If you’re attending a charity ball, a floor-length gown or suit is the usual fashion. An elegant diamond pendant will help dress up your look. This style goes well with a V-neck dress or anything cut to show off your pendant. It will add a subtle touch of sparkle without overwhelming the outfit. Plus, diamonds go with every color, so you can’t go wrong when pairing a diamond pendant with your outfit!

Concerts or Festivals

Other popular fashion-forward events that often come up are concerts and festivals. These occasions are much more casual and allow your personal style to really shine. Whether it’s Coachella, a Taylor Swift concert, or something else, you’ll see lots of attendees rocking the latest trends and original looks. We suggest bangles to add a carefree vibe to your outfit while simultaneously dressing it up with a bit of fine jewelry.

Graduation and Graduation Parties

If you’re looking for a unique graduation piece, we love a colorful gemstone ring that represents your school colors. This will be a special piece of jewelry you can wear forever in addition to or instead of a class ring. On the actual day of graduation, you’ll typically wear your school colors, black, or white, and the ring will pair perfectly.

Are you looking for the right gift for graduation? Or perhaps you’re the graduate, trying to decide what to wear on such an important day? Either way, we’ve got you covered in the Graduation Jewelry post in our Jewelry for Every Occasion Series.

Homecoming

Homecoming is a fall dance that is typically more casual than other formals like prom. You’ll see a lot of shorter dresses and more laid-back menswear. We love dangle earrings for homecoming dances because they dress up any outfit and add a dazzling effect.

Prom

Prom is a fashionable high school rite of passage for many. Long, formal gowns tend to be the most popular style accompanied by suits. A tennis necklace makes the perfect gift for your teen as it will sparkle and shine for a glamorous look on one of the most awaited nights in many young people’s lives.

College Formals

For a college sorority, fraternity, or other organizational formal, the options of what to wear are endless depending on the event. Some formals tend to be more casual, like homecoming, while others call for dressing to the nines. We recommend gifting or wearing a unique charm, perhaps with the initials of the college, for a unique statement piece that goes with anything.

Birthdays

Looking for the perfect birthday gift? You can’t go wrong with jewelry that represents the month in which they were born! Shop birthstone jewelry to find the gift they were born to wear, whether it’s a bright red ruby, a stunning opal, a serene amethyst, or something else.

Sweet 16 Celebrations

Another popular occasion for many is a sweet 16 birthday party. This event can be as casual or as formal as you want it to be. We think diamond stud earrings make a great gift at this age as they are a simple, classic piece they will cherish forever and get a lot of daily wear out of.

The Met Gala

The Met Gala is one of the world’s biggest fashion events of the year. While it’s invitation-only, many people decide to dress up at themed parties or replicate the event’s top fashion statements. Typically, attendees will wear a formal outfit that shows off a lot of personality. We love colorful gemstone earrings for a Met Gala look because they add a pop of color and individuality to any outfit.

Bold Daily 14K Yellow Gold Hoops

Awards Ceremonies

If you’re lucky enough to attend the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, or Tony Awards, or if you’re viewing at a watch party, you know the style is all about sparkly, dressy gowns and fashionable menswear. We love gold hoops at any awards ceremony because they’re stylish, gorgeous, and they just happen to match the gold trophy!

Fashion Week

Many cities all over the world have fashion weeks that set the style tone for the rest of the year. Milan, Paris, and New York City are a few of the most popular fashion week events that see new high-fashion pieces from designers as well as trending street fashion. Fashion week is all about expressing yourself and wearing what makes you feel best. We like mixed metals because they give a unique twist, allow for tons of mixing and matching, and add a cool edge to your look.

The Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is all about florals, pastels, and, of course, wide-brimmed hats. This Southern event definitely has its traditions when it comes to style, but we also see a lot of fun, quirky pieces. Earrings can be hard to see with a classic hat, so we like a layered statement necklace to make your outfit even more bold on Derby Day.

Wimbledon

Similar to the Kentucky Derby, Wimbledon is a sporting event known for its fashion. People tend to wear preppy, summery outfits. We usually see lots of white clothing and linens during this event. Pearls are a great complement to Wimbledon’s classically British attire.

We have all of your fine jewelry needs at Shane Co. so that you can show off your personal style no matter the occasion. If you need help finding the perfect look, book an appointment online or in your local store to get started.
