To reveal the top 20 jewelry trends this summer, we ranked trends based on a range of factors, including the number of Google searches, whether they’re trending on Pinterest, and the number of posts the trend has gained across Instagram and TikTok.

When delving into the data, we found that chunky charm necklaces are the hottest jewelry trend this summer, with a huge +823% increase in Google searches compared to last year. The love for these bold pieces doesn’t stop there, either — Pinterest has seen a staggering +2,000% search demand too.
This isn’t the only sign that bigger is better this season; chunky gold jewelry nabs the ninth spot on the trend list, and chunky necklaces in general rank at number 17. The message is clear: statement pieces are in.
Charm bracelets also land at number three, proving that charms are another key theme this season. These can be a great way to add some personalization and individuality to your style, as well as being a fascinating conversation starter. These pieces can also be a great option to pass down through generations, letting future family members or loved ones build on your charm collections.
If you still want the bold look but chunky charms aren’t your style, you can achieve a similar statement by layering your jewels. Necklace stacks claim fifth place on the trends list and layering necklaces take 12th, so it’s clear this trend is going strong. You can really make your personal style shine with this trend. Try playing with different lengths, textures, and metals to create your own personalized and eye-catching look. With layering, the possibilities truly are endless.
We were also unsurprised to see friendship bracelets, beaded bracelets, and summer string bracelets on the list, with these styles of bracelets taking the world by storm, thanks to Taylor Swift’s fans around the world. Safe to say, Swifties may have had a big role to play in this trend making a comeback, creating Eras-themed bracelets to exchange at the shows.

Looks like summer string bracelets are heating up this year, with a +200% increase in Google searches over the last three months.
Ocean themes are making a splash in the jewelry world too. Shell earrings, starfish designs, and seashell jewelry, in general, have all seen significant increases in search interest, with jumps of up to +84%. If you’re not able to get away on a beach vacation this year, seashell jewelry is a great way to bring the ocean vibe to you.
There’s also been a surge in interest for all things cowboy, with searches for “cowboy jewelry” and “cowgirl jewelry” both rising by +50% over the last three months. The resurgence of country music, fueled by new releases from superstars like Beyoncé and Post Malone, and #cowboyromance gaining 7 million views on BookTok, is undoubtedly fueling this trend’s popularity. So, dust off your cowboy boots and get ready to embrace the Western vibes with some statement turquoise jewelry or a bold bolo tie.

Amanda Trevizo, Director of Bridal Merchandising at Shane Co., shares her take on engagement ring trends this summer:
“When it comes to picking your perfect engagement ring, the trends are reflecting a desire for individuality and personal expression. We’re seeing a 25% increase in interest for colored gemstones, like sapphires and rubies; these vibrant beauties can add a touch of personality and symbolize important qualities, like loyalty and wisdom with a sapphire.
Of course, classic styles are always timeless. This year, we’re seeing a beautiful twist on the classic with wider shanks, scattered stones, and stunning colored stones alongside the traditional diamond.”
Speaking of stones, Brittany Wyeno, Shane Co.’s Director of Stone Inventory, says:
“Our most popular gemstone colors reveal a strong trend toward bold and beautiful choices. Greens of all shades, from deep emeralds to vibrant peridots, are a fashionable favorite right now. Black gems, like black spinels and opals, offer a touch of edgy elegance, while aquamarines and classic blue sapphires add a timeless touch. And for those seeking a unique blend, teal and blue-green hues are perfect for creating a stunning statement.
As for shape, rounds remain the undisputed champion, offering a classic and elegant brilliance. But ovals are making a serious run for the top spot, followed closely by cushion and princess cuts. Elongated shapes like pear cuts, emerald cuts, radiant cuts, and marquises are all experiencing a surge in popularity right now too, offering a more contemporary and glamorous feel.”

A seed list of trends was compiled through desk research, Shane Co. internal experts, and Pinterest trending terms across “jewelry,” “ring,” “necklace,” “earring,” and “bracelet.”
These trends were then analyzed using Google search volume (monthly average) and Google search increases (year on year) (source: Google Keyword Planner), the Pinterest Growing Trends report, and the number of posts across Instagram and TikTok. A weighted index was then calculated using the above metrics, as well as whether Shane Co.’s internal experts declared this as one of their summer trends.
