Are you proposing this spring? It’s the perfect season to get engaged, with flowers blooming and love in the air. If you’re local to the Minneapolis area or visiting, there are some beautiful proposal spots to consider. With two jewelry stores near Minneapolis, we scouted the area to find the best proposal spots.

First, we checked in with Meet Minneapolis, an information bureau that knows more about the city than anyone else. Need some quick ideas to get started? They recommend two very popular engagement locations: the Stone Arch Bridge and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (more on both of those below). They also suggest the observation deck at the W Minneapolis – The Foshay hotel for some incredible views.

Dive deeper into more Minneapolis proposal ideas, learn more about planning your engagement, and explore ring shopping options below.

Boom Island Park

Boom Island Park is at the top of our list! It’s located on the Mississippi riverfront with gorgeous views of the Minneapolis skyline in the background. At Boom Island Park, you’ll find areas for biking, boating, walking, and picnics. It’s easy to park and find a quiet spot, whether you want to propose in front of the water or with the city backdrop.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

Another stunning outdoor option for your spring proposal in Minneapolis is the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Here, you have several options for picturesque proposal spots. Check out their wedding events package. Some of these locations within the arboretum make for the perfect proposal spot in addition to being available for weddings. Consider the Japanese Gardens, waterfall area, conservatory, and more for a beautiful botanical proposal.

Stone Arch Bridge

The Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis crosses the Mississippi River and offers a panoramic view of St. Anthony Falls. Propose with a breathtaking view of the city in the background. Keep in mind that construction is set to start on the bridge in 2024, so make sure to check out any closures before planning your bridge proposal.

Minnehaha Falls

Minnehaha Falls is another incredible nature option for your spring proposal in Minneapolis. It’s part of the 193-acre Minnehaha Park that overlooks the Mississippi River. The falls are a perfect pocket of serenity in an otherwise busy city. The waterfall is only a short walk from the parking area, so you can dress in nice clothing and stay fresh for the proposal.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

If you’re looking for a unique proposal spot for the art lover in your life, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a great location. It’s one of the largest urban sculpture gardens in the country and features impressive artistic structures. It’s free to visit and is beautifully landscaped with city buildings peppering the skyline. Professional photography is welcome with a permit, and you can rent spaces if you’re hosting a party for your proposal. For more information on renting and permits, visit minneapolisparks.org.

Planning Your Minneapolis Proposal

If you’re looking to amp up your proposal, you may consider hiring a professional proposal planner to ensure everything goes smoothly. You work with the planner, sharing your love story and creating a custom engagement plan that speaks to your relationship.

You may also want to hire a professional photographer, like Rachel Graff Photo, to capture the moment. Rachel also has some great recommendations for spring proposal locations in Minneapolis:

“As a photographer, I think the perfect spring proposal location features the beautiful weather and nature of the season. Get outside and find a spot with blooming flowers or trees to create a happy, romantic atmosphere. Check out the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Como Park Conservatory, or Centennial Lakes Park as some of my favorite spring nature locations in the Twin Cities.”
