Tips for Giving Your Wedding a Personal Touch

You have your engagement ring and the man of your dreams—now it’s time to start planning your big day! Every relationship is completely unique, and your wedding day should be too. It’s the perfect time to show everyone how special your love for each other is. While it’s great to follow your favorite wedding traditions, there are also many ways that you can make your special day one of a kind.

Choose a Unique Wedding Theme

A great stepping stone for personalizing your wedding is choosing a theme tailored to your unique personalities. Do you love the great outdoors or are you more western chic? Vintage-inspired or edgy and modern? The theme can be the catalyst that will help you in every step of the planning process, from the style of the venue to that little graphic on the napkins.

Show Off Your Individuality in the Décor

Show everyone who each of you were before you met. Have baby photos in frames at the tables or play a slideshow of your favorite childhood memories. Share how the two of you met with an ode to the day you laid eyes on each other. Maybe you met at a grocery store by grabbing for the same apple at the same time. A centerpiece with apples could be just the custom touch your wedding needs. You could also use proposal photos in your celebration—they might even help inspire some single guys at the wedding who want to propose in the near future!

Make Your Event Interactive

Another fun idea is to have your wedding be interactive so your guests can get involved. Celebrate on social media with a one-of-a-kind hashtag, like #MillerWedding or #KateAndPaul4Ever. Not only will you feel slightly famous, but it brings all of your posts and your guests’ posts into one designated area, which makes it easy for everyone to see all the fun that was had. Instead of a guest book, have guests write advice or a favorite memory of the two of you on slips of paper and put them in a jar so the two of you can read them later. It’ll be entertaining for guests and perhaps even helpful for you in the future.

No matter your wedding size or budget, there’s always a personal touch you can add to make it stand out among the rest.
