Here are some dos and don\u2019ts that will keep your prized piece sparkling for a lifetime!<\/p>\n

Do Get It Insured<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Insuring your ring is very important, just in case it is ever lost or stolen. Although insurance can never replace the sentimental value of your ring, it will cover replacing it and give you the peace of mind that if anything ever does happen to it, you are not completely out. You will need a certified appraisal before getting an insurance policy. If you purchased your ring from Shane Co., we will re-print an appraisal anytime you need it, free of charge!<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t Neglect Your Ring<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Since you wear your engagement ring every day, it is going to have some wear and tear. Do Take It Off <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Of course you always want to be wearing your engagement ring, but there are some things we should not do with our rings on. For instance, if you are lifting weights, rock climbing, applying lotion or cleaning with harsh chemicals, your ring is better left in a safe place.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t Wear Your Ring to Bed<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wearing your ring to bed sounds harmless. However, your sheets act like sandpaper against those prongs. The friction will cause the gold to wear down more quickly, and you could lose stones if you are not getting the ring checked regularly. I recommend buying a ring tray and having it on your bedside table, so you get in the routine of keeping it there while you sleep.<\/p>\n
