There are some common things most newly engaged couples go through and, while most are exciting, some of them can certainly be overwhelming. Because of that, we wanted to share a list of things to be prepared for so you know what&#8217;s up next for you and your partner for life!<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">1. You&#8217;ll get asked for the proposal story over and over. And over.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">That&#8217;s why we started <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theknot.com\/content\/proposal-advice\">HowHeAsked.com<\/a> in the first place! Feel free to <a href=\"https:\/\/howheasked.com\/submit-your-proposal\">send us your story<\/a> so you can share it with all of your friends and family.<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2. People will immediately ask you when the wedding date is.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It&#8217;s shocking how quickly the wedding detail questions come. While I know it may not be a conversation you want to jump into one day after the proposal, it might be worth it to go over a few basics (like timeframe and location) so you&#8217;re on a unified front to answer all of your friends and family.<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">3. You&#8217;ll start to plan sooner than you think.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">A lot of couples say &#8220;we&#8217;re in no rush&#8221; or decide to take planning slow. While we absolutely understand that sentiment, per tip number two, plans get talked about sooner than you think. You&#8217;ll start to realize that seasons or other big events dictate timeframe and weather affects the location.<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">4. Venues and vendors book up quickly.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Another reason planning should happen fairly early is there is a lot of competition for venues and vendors, like photographers, florists and videographers. In some cases, a popular venue could be booked 18-24 months out, so it pays to explore your options early!<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">5. People will want to get you gifts, so register fast.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">This last one doesn&#8217;t sound too bad, does it? The one thing we&#8217;ll warn you about is it&#8217;s much better to get a gift you actually want than one you&#8217;ll politely thank your great aunt for but will never, ever use. That&#8217;s the purpose of a registry, and while most people think it&#8217;s used for the actual wedding only, it&#8217;s actually widely used for engagement gifts and showers.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll leave you with one last bit of advice: Wedding planning can be a lot of things\u2014fun, stressful, creative, amazing! It&#8217;s not every day that you get to plan an incredibly special day dedicated to you and your lifelong partner, so always remind yourself that it is worth every
