It\u2019s October, and you know what that means \u2014\ncozy sweaters, hot apple cider, Halloween and our personal favorite: fall\nwedding season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s no secret that we get excited about weddings no matter the time of year, but in honor of all of the couples that get to experience the joy (and the beautiful foliage) that comes with getting married in autumn<\/a>, we decided to do something extra special to celebrate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We decided it would be fun to look into how much some of our favorite iconic movie weddings would cost in real life. We estimated the cost of the venue, dress, catering, floral arrangements and, of course, the engagement ring<\/a> to determine the most and least expensive movie weddings. From Melanie\u2019s southern Sweet Home Alabama<\/em> wedding to Carrie\u2019s New York Public Library wedding in Sex and the City the Movie,<\/em> our findings are sure to pique your interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consider\nyourself warned: They may also prompt you to binge-watch wedding movies all\nseason long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

27 Dresses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve seen 27 Dresses<\/em>, you know just\nhow perfect Jane and Kevin\u2019s wedding was. But how much does it cost to throw a\nNew York beach wedding, you ask? Allow us to give you the breakdown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The priciest facet of Jane\u2019s wedding was the\nvenue. Assuming their wedding was followed by an off-screen catered reception,\nthey likely shelled out around $12,000 on the location and food. And it\u2019s no\nsurprise \u2014 given that Jane has a closet dedicated solely to dresses \u2014 that one\nof the priciest items on her wedding bill was her sleeveless Amsale Aberra\ngown, which costs about $7,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you pair the venue and dress costs with the\ncost of the minimalist floral arrangements ($545) and engagement ring ($7,718), Jane and Kevin\u2019s\nwedding comes to a total of $27,735, which, when compared to some of the other\nweddings on our roster, is pretty affordable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bride Wars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It may not come as a shock that tying the knot\nat the Plaza Hotel isn\u2019t the way to go if you\u2019re looking to keep your wedding\ncost low, but Emma in Bride Wars<\/em> didn\u2019t seem to be too concerned with\nprice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you account for the location ($12,000), the\ncustom-made Vera Wang gown ($11,200), the catering ($50,000) and the florals\ninvolved ($1,362), Emma and Fletcher\u2019s wedding likely cost just shy of $75,000.\nWhen you add Emma\u2019s 1.50-carat brilliant round diamond engagement ring to the\nmix, the total wedding cost is $85,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the question remains: Did Emma spend enough\nto out-do her best friend Liv\u2019s wedding? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bridesmaids<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Bridesmaids<\/em>, Lillian\u2019s over-the-top\ncouture wedding gown definitely stole the show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And while you can\u2019t get the exact dress for\nyourself \u2014 it was custom-made for Maya Rudolph\u2019s character \u2014 you may be able to get your hands on one of the Elie Saab gowns\nthat inspired the outrageous dress. Back in 2011, Saab\u2019s gowns went for around\n$30,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you pair Lillian\u2019s dress cost with the\n$3,500 cost of renting out space in the Los Angeles County Botanical Garden,\ncatering for 200+ guests ($30,000), florals ($1,720), and a 2.00-carat\nbrilliant round engagement ring ($20,000), the grand total for Lillian and\nDoug\u2019s wedding amounts to over $85,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love Actually<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Peter and Juliet\u2019s London wedding is the only\ninternational wedding on our roster. They were married in the Grosvenor Chapel,\nan Anglican church built back in the 1730s. At only $783, their venue didn\u2019t\nbreak the bank. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juliet\u2019s dress, worn by British actress Keira\nKnightley, was the most expensive wedding cost at $7,245. All in all, with the\nvenue, lace wedding gown, modest florals ($737), catering ($5,029), and\nengagement ring ($1,850), Peter and Juliet\u2019s special day is estimated to have\ncost $15,644. Now that\u2019s what we call an affordable wedding!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sex and the City<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At nearly $160,000, Carrie and Big\u2019s New York\nPublic Library wedding amounted to be the most costly of all those we priced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you account for their $60,000 venue,\nCarrie\u2019s $15,700 Vivienne Westwood gown, the $70,000 catering bill, the $9,000\nthey shelled out on florals, and the $5,000 round black diamond engagement\nring*, it’s a shame Carrie didn\u2019t even get to walk down the aisle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All we have to say is, we hope Mr. Big agreed to\nfoot the bill \u2026 unless it\u2019s permissible to pay in Manolo Blahniks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

*We opted to include the ring from Carrie and\nBig\u2019s second engagement as it is most memorable. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sweet Home Alabama<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s nothing quite like a southern wedding, and\nwhen it comes to fictional southern weddings, Andrew and Melanie\u2019s is difficult\nto beat. From the charming historic venue to the beautiful outdoor space to\nMelanie\u2019s gorgeous sleeveless mermaid-style gown, everything about the Sweet\nHome Alabama<\/em> wedding was perfect \u2014 aside from the\nmismatched couple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what we discovered about this perfect Sweet Home Alabama<\/em> wedding is that\nAndrew and Melanie paid<\/em> for this perfection, especially the engagement\nring. The venue, Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum, is estimated to have\ncost about $7,500, with the dress costing $1,233, catering at $5,250 and\nflowers coming in at $525. Melanie\u2019s $125,000 cushion cut Tiffany engagement\nring brings the total from $14,528 to a whopping $139,528. That\u2019s one pricey\ndiamond!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Proposal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Andrew and Margaret\u2019s barn wedding, albeit fake,\nwas still one of the loveliest of the bunch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But did you know it technically wasn\u2019t held in\nSitka, Alaska? As it turns out, the \u201cPaxton family home\u201d belongs to a family in\nMassachusetts. Since homeowners are typically compensated about $2,500 per day\nto allow their home to be used as a filming location, this is how much Margaret\nand Andrew\u2019s wedding venue cost. When added to the other associated costs \u2014 the vintage wedding dress (similar dresses go for $265 on Etsy),\ncatering ($3,000), florals ($625), and the engagement ring ($7,718) \u2014 the total comes out to $14,108.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wedding Crashers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Christina and Craig\u2019s Maryland wedding reception\nwas held at The Inn at Perry Cabin, which costs about $29,000, including\ncatering. Though it\u2019s unclear where Christina\u2019s dress is from, tulle princess\ngowns similar to Christina\u2019s go for around $450. As for the happy couple\u2019s\nflorals, they\u2019re estimated to cost just over $1,100. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you account for the aforementioned costs\nand the $6,893 engagement ring, Christina and Craig\u2019s wedding comes to a grand\ntotal of $37,345.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all, at nearly $160,000, Carrie and Big\u2019s\nNew York Public Library wedding turned out to be the most expensive, followed\nby Melanie and Andrew\u2019s in Sweet Home Alabama<\/em> ($139,528), and Lillian\nand Doug\u2019s in Bridesmaids<\/em> ($85,220). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the most wallet-friendly wedding,\nMargaret and Andrew\u2019s in The Proposal<\/em> takes the cake. At just $14,108,\nthey spent about $15,000 less than the national average. But, if you ask us,\n$15,000 is still a lot to shell out for a fake marriage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
