1. Who buys the wedding bands?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Traditionally speaking, the groom-to-be buys his honey their engagement ring<\/a> and wedding band<\/a>, while the bride takes care of her fianc\u00e9\u2019s band. This goes along with the idea of \u201cexchanging\u201d rings at the ceremony, and gives the bride and groom a chance to give each other a wedding gift of sorts. Many couples even choose to have their rings engraved with a special message \u2014 this works well if you are keeping the rings as a surprise for each other on the wedding day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Who pays for the wedding?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Throughout history, it\u2019s been a common tradition for the\nwedding expenses to be taken care of by the bride\u2019s family. There are a few\nreasons for this \u2014 one is that this is considered the \u201clast party\u201d the bride\u2019s\nparents will fund for their daughter. Also, in times when it was quite common\nfor the groom to support his future wife by providing a house and living\nexpenses, it typically made sense for the bride\/bride\u2019s family to make the\nlargest financial contribution to the wedding. Based on a\nsurvey done by The Knot<\/a> in 2017, this tradition still rings pretty true \u2014\non average, the bride\u2019s parents contribute 45% to the overall wedding budget,\nwhile the groom\u2019s family contributes just 13%. At the same time, it\u2019s become a\nlot less unusual to see a couple take care of the majority of their wedding\nexpenses themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Who pays for the bachelorette and bachelor parties?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s pretty common to see the bachelorette and bachelor\nparty expenses paid for by the friends and family of the bride and groom \u2014\nmeaning the bridesmaids take care of the bachelorette party, while the\ngroomsmen handle the bachelor party. Because these events are meant as a \u201csendoff\u201d\nfor the couple, it gives their friends a chance to celebrate and gift them a\nspecial experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Who pays for the honeymoon?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Typically, the groom and the groom\u2019s family take care of the\nhoneymoon expenses \u2014 especially if the bride\u2019s family is paying for the\nmajority of the wedding. 6. Who pays for the bridesmaids\/groomsmen attire?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unless the bride and groom are asking the members of their wedding party to wear something really extravagant, the cost of clothing for their bridesmaids and groomsmen is usually handled by the people wearing it themselves. However, it is traditional for the bride\/groom to give the members of their wedding party gifts<\/a> \u2014 often jewelry \u2014 as a way of saying thank you for their help in making their big day one to remember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
