Color is graded by letters D (colorless) through Z (light yellow) and refers to the absence of color in the stone. The closer the grade is to D, the rarer the stone.
Cut refers to the stone’s proportions, symmetry and polish, which affect the stone’s sparkle. Cut grades range from Poor to Ideal.
Carat refers to the weight of the stone. The higher the carat weight, the rarer the stone is.
Clarity refers to the purity of the stone. Clarity grades range from FL (flawless, no inclusions visible with 10x magnification loupe) to I3 (included, obvious inclusions visible to the naked eye).
